What can I say about it?
I first learned about Neem Oil very early in my soap making career on one of many soap forums I frequent. I learned more about the foul, offensive smell than its benefits. Since the smell is what many spoke about, I was not eager to get my hands on Neem Oil until I began researching natural ways to relive eczema.
Yes, Neem Oil has a very offensive, displeasing aroma, but the properties that give off the sulfurous smell are the ingredients that make neem oil so effective at promoting healthy skin. Neem oil is widely used in Africa and India as an anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and antiseptic in personal care products. It is also used to treat many skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, scabies and chicken pox.
Neem oil can also control dandruff and repel bugs. Karess Krafters offers two products with neem – a handmade soap and a salve, and I must say when working with this oil the stench is evident for at least 72 hours. Thankfully, the smell becomes less offensive with time and once the soap bar has cured, you don’t have a displeasing aroma.
As for the salve, the aroma is not as offensive due to the wonders of Tea Tree oil. Even though Neem oil has a sulfurous aroma, it is well worth the benefits. Check it out for yourself and give Karess Krafters Tea Tree & Neem soap and salve a try. Once you see how marvelous these items are with the Neem Oil blended with natural, wholesome ingredients, your skin will LOVE it. Healthy Skin Rochell Selvey
