natural healing the way Mother Nature intended
What is a salve?
Salve is defined as a (1) medicinal ointment for healing or relieving wounds and sores. And, (2) anything that soothes, mollifies, or relieves.
That definition alone is enough to make me want to know more. Medicinal ointment for healing or relieving wounds and sores sent my antennas up, especially since I am a mom three times over. Two of the three are very active males who love sports and a sweet girl who get small bruises from doing dainty things like trimming her cuticles
How does a salve benefit us?
It’s all in the herb. Nearly every herb known to man can serve a beneficial purpose in a salve. From winter-chapped skin to summer sunburns, from scraped knees to scratched hands, and from kitchen burns to bug bites, there is an herb or two that offers a natural remedy that feels great and promotes your body’s natural healing process.
Some of our favorites are calendula, St. John’s wort, plantain and chickweed, just to name a small few. Here is why
How do you use the herb?
We do one of two things, we make an herbal tea and either drink it or add it to a product, like body butters. Or we infuse it in an oil, which is our favorite method.
Infusing the herbs in an oil such as olive will allow the oil to take on the benefits of the herb which can be used alone or in a product such as a salve. Since starting our journey in natural skincare we have learned so much and still have lots to learn. One thing that we have taken away from our experience is there is miraculous healing in herbs, just the way Mother Nature intended. We encourage you to explore different herbs for whatever may be ailing you.
